Civil engineering (also known as municipal engineering) deals with municipal infrastructure. This involves specifying, designing, constructing, streets, parking lots, sidewalks, water supply networks, sewers, street lighting, public parks and bicycle paths. For telephone, power and cable it may also include the civil portion (conduits and access chambers).
